The Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association Pennsylvania Liaison at State College was first founded in 1990. It has been a
registered student club at Penn State for about
25 years.
The purpose of the Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association Pennsylvania Liaison at State College is to provide a change for Penn State students and community members to
learn and practice Buddhism in the Chinese Chan Tradition. To learn and practice Chan Buddhism, the club basically follows the teachings of
Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association and
Ven. Master Sheng-Yen, the founder of Dharma Drum Mountain Buddhist Association. With the mission “Uplift the character of humanity and build a Pure Land on earth,” stated by Ven. Master Sheng-Yen, the members are learning to help the selves and all other beings in all measures, and to proceed on the Bodhisattva Path.
